The Energy Turnaround is decided, but smart metering is particularly critical for the entire society and the state, because the internetworking of energy measurement technology over public communication links touches different interests and issues related to IT security.

At a joint Smart Metering Workshop, together with DFKI, datenschutz cert, VOLTARIS and supported by German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) the Sirrix AG will address this topic in a lecture about Smart Meter Gateway technology.

The topics of this Smart Metering Workshop are addressing the development, life cycle and the administration of a Smart Meter Gateway. They focus on IT security, privacy and interoperability.

The workshop is aimed at manufacturers of smart meters / smart metering products, metering operators, metering service providers, distribution system operators and energy suppliers. The goal is a mutual, pre-competitive exchange of views on technical issues.

Michael Gröne of the Sirrix AG will present the lecture to the topic "Technische Aspekte der Smart Meter Gateways" on 15 February 2012, 14:45 to 15:45 o'clock in the Deutsches Forschungszentrum für Künstliche Intelligenz (DFKI) GmbH, Campus D3 2, Saarbrücken, Germany.
