Research and Processing

We are strongly cooperate with various research groups at Saarland University Saarbrücken as well as with the eurobits, European Competence Center for IT Security, at Ruhr-University Bochum. Moreover, Sirrix AG considers own research particularly in design of cryptographic protocols and mechanisms for secure communication as well as in design and implementation of trustworthy IT-Systems and operating systems. Our employees contribute to the leading national and international conferences through their publications and talks.

The three focuses on research of Sirrix AG:

• Security of communication infrastructures
  In this research, we are designing secure stream and block ciphers, efficient operation modes, authenticating encryption systems and secure key exchange and key authentication systems.

• Security of operating systems
  We are designing security architectures for trustworthy platforms and operating systems, which are essential for systems with legally binding transactions, e.g. systems with digital signature, and provide the base for isolated systems, such as compartmented mode workstations.

• Content protection and multilateral security
  The protection of digital contents against unauthorized access is one of the big challenges of future data processing. On the one had this concerns the enforcement of security policies are becoming increasingly vital for enterprises and authorities (Multi-Level Security). On the other hand it concerns the enforcement of policies on remote systems (Digital Rights Management). Achieving a pragmartic balance between the interests of users, content holders and content providers is the main goal of Multilateral Security.
