TruCom is the current development project establishing a trustworthy mobile DRM-Platform based on modern Trusted-Computing technologies.

Basing on the PERSEUS security architecture, the TruCom project represents a by now unique OS platform. This security platform ensures the enforcement of predefined security policies - for the provider, as well as for the end-user.

Especially in company enviroments mobile terminals become more and more irreplaceble for daily business. Data has to be accessible everywhere and everytime as possible. So secure communication channels protecting sensible data become more important. TRUCOM encrypts all critical data, such as adressbooks, company- and customer data, and prevents it from unauthorized access from outside.

Viruses, Trojan Horses, Worms and other present security problems of common operating systems are isolated by the special security kernel from all sensible data. Therewith the system qualifies for security-critical applications and as a consequence especially for a use in eCommerce or eGovernment areas.

Common IT systems do not offer secure possibilities to enforce predefined security policies. The OS controls hardware and applications only in a user-defined way. The user is able to bypass security mechanisms - intensional or unintensional. Therfore the security kernel is isolated from the user and controls all security-relevant processes within the Trusted Computing-Platform and thus ensures  a trustworthy, secure system for provider and enduser.

That way the TruCom system meets different requirements: on the one hand, industries´ demand for powerful security mechanisms for digital content (Digital Rights Management), and on the other hand the endusers´ demand for privacy protection and free self-determination.

The development of the security kernel Turaya was the basis for a sustainable solution of security problems. The isolated kernal with its own tiny operating system is embedded between hardware and common OS. Therein it controls all security-relevant processes and applications.

• Privacy Protection by  multilateral security policies
• Secure Booting by displaying system manipulations

At the moment the TruCom system is developed into a marketable commodity. Sirrix AG is supported by the scientific working group around Professor Dr. Sadeghi at the Ruhr University Bochum and the IT  experts of GITS AG, Bochum. The project is also promoted by the initiative of North Rine-Westphalia „secure-it.nrw“.
